Learn free-motion machine embroidery – a little like sketching with a sewing machine!
Experiment with appliqué and embroidery to create samples that can be made into greetings cards to take home. With just six people in each workshop, there’s plenty of time to learn new techniques and receive individual guidance from Janet.
What you'll create
Create your own bunting
Choose from a colourful selection of fabrics, threads and motifs to create your own three-metre piece of original bunting.
You can make up to eight individually designed flags, experimenting with different colours, patterns and appliqué techniques to create a finished piece that is completely your own.
Janet will be there throughout the workshop to demonstrate techniques, share tips and help bring your ideas to life.
Everything you need
All materials are provided
There’s no need to bring any equipment or materials. Janet will bring six sewing machines, along with a large selection of fabrics, threads, motifs, bunting templates, scissors, an iron and everything else you’ll need.
With more than 30 years’ experience teaching art and textiles, Janet creates a relaxed and welcoming environment where you can experiment, learn new skills and enjoy being creative.

Complete beginners and improvers.

The host attends free. £55 per person, Total cost £275.
TIME
4-hour workshop including at 30 minute break. Available Wednesday to Sunday at either: 11am – 3pm or 2pm – 6pm
LOCATION
Your home, anywhere in Pembrokeshire (West Wales) and surrounding areas. All Janet’s travel costs are included.
The Inspiration
Hosting your workshop
You’ll need a room with enough space for six people, a table and six chairs. The host provides snacks and drinks – Janet brings everything else!
Janet will arrive approximately 30 minutes before the workshop to set up and will pack everything away once everyone has finished.
